About Companions

Since 1884, the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross has welcomed women who feel called to a life of prayer, thanksgiving and simplicity. Companions are from all walks of life and across the globe. They are single, married and partnered. Some work and some are retired. Above all, they are focused on spiritual growth, prayer life and companionship. Companions welcome all women who desire to follow Jesus and the Companion vows.
